Miller Machine and Welding has been proudly serving Knox County and the surrounding areas for over 40 years. The following is a condensed timeline of events:
- While Rick Miller was attending Vincennes Lincoln High School, he began working at Prullage Machine Shop.
- After graduating, Rick joined the United States Army, where he proudly served his country as a surveyor.
- After returning home after nearly three years in the Army, Rick worked part-time at Prullage Machine Shop while attending Vincennes University and studying pre-engineering.
- On June 1, 1974, Rick purchased Prullage Machine Shop from Dick Baldwin.
- While learning the business, Rick had the great idea to hire his best friend, Fritz Willis.
- Rick moved to the current location at 406 South 15th Street and renamed the business Miller Machine and Welding.
- As the business continually grew and changed over the years of providing quality and dependable service, Miller Machine and Welding outgrew the original space and added on a 4500 sq.ft. welding shop.
- Rick's wife Patricia joined Miller Machine to help out with the administrative side of the business.
- Purchased first CNC machine.
- As time went on, it was found that there was a need for a larger machine shop to provide the exceptional quality products our customers demanded, so a new 3000 sq.ft. machine shop was added.
